Multi-Messenger Astrophysics and Gravitation
Since 2021
The main goal of this program is to establish a boundaryless collaboration throughout theoretical, observational, and experimental field focusing on gravitation research. The theory of gravity can be verified by astrophysical phenomena; this is enabled and made easier by the development of technology. This means that astrophysical observations and experiments play a significant role in motivating theoretical research. From this perspective, gravitation has tremendous potential to develop alongside MMA. This can particularly be achieved by integrating theoretical modeling with the information obtained from the measurement of photons, GWs, neutrinos, cosmic rays, etc. In our program, we will focus on researching gravitation in conjunction with MMA. We will start out building a foundation for open discussions about theories of gravitation, binary black hole mergers, gravitational wave detections, presenting variety of astrophysics research and developing insights. As we establish a community to freely exchange ideas and collaborate, we would like to expand the program further to Asia-Pacific region.
